Atelier Inscrire was founded in 2016, specialising in handmade shoes and Jewellery.
Every phase of the construction process is done in house in the Atelier studio, located on the island of Menorca, lost in the Mediterranean between Italy and Spain.
The collections incorporate natural materials, crafted through artisanal techniques across disciplines, such as natural pigment dyeing, painting, and direct draping of leather onto shoe lasts.
There are elements of braiding, weaving and ruching, which lend softness and texture to the collection.
Ties and closures are fashioned from thick pigment dyed silk, allowing for versatility and volume.
Shoe soles are made of vegetable tanned leather, finished entirely by hand and stitched with organic linen thread. Shoes are wet-lasted, using a traditional method by which the shoe is naturally dried onto the last for 48 hours.
By adhering to these traditional methods, combined with the unusual use of materials and techniques, strictness of quality is upheld while allowing for experimentation with craft.
The Bordeaux Linen Shoe by Atelier Inscrire is handmade in red vegetable tanned linen with silk laces.
