Sibyl (meaning female oracle) was established in 2018 by Cornelia Andersson with a view to create trans-seasonal collections, presented as chapters in which the past, present and future are brought into focus together; a steady stream of recollections and prophecies – bright as they are vague – in dialogue with one another, comprising the ‘Opera omnia’.
Bygone centuries are reimagined in Chenille jacquards, hand-beaded metalwork and the colours of faded paintings. Forgetting binary particularities, floating silhouettes work against the body to create romantic shapes that dance with the wearer offering them a chance to escape the here and now.
