Studio Kettle intends to start a conversation to address our relationships with consumption, underpinned by a philosophy that considers timeless design and ultimately promotes deeper attachments with our belongings.
Studio Kettle thinks of garments as narrative objects, the story of a garment begins with the process of its creation, it is loaded with the history of workmanship. Many of Studio Kettles items are cut from abstract paintings on canvas and thus their narrative begins as a work of art. When a person comes to own a garment this narrative evolves as it is integrated into a new life. By viewing clothing in this way we can be conscious about the purchases we make and in turn come to value and respect our belongings in a deeper way.
